Jade Mawson - The Art of Conservation

Category: Nature

Date: 07 January 2019 to 11 January 2019

Time: 11:00 a.m. to 16:00 p.m.

Hednesford artist Jade Mawson works in pencil and charcoal to create stunning photorealistic drawings of living creatures, capturing the strong contrast between light and dark, often only using one pencil and a rubber for an entire piece.  Jade’s aim is to be as technically accurate as possible, capturing the 'likeness' of a person or animal in her portraits.

As an animal lover, Jade is thrilled to be able to bring together her two passions, animal welfare and art, and through showcasing her work, aims to raise awareness about the importance of taking care of our planet and its creatures.

This is her first exhibition at the museum
